Multan

Continuing in a south westerly from Lahore one reaches Multan, a city that was born only a few hundred years after the Indus Valley Civilization died. Multan has a unique climate characterized by frequent rainstorms, thunder, and lightning, suffocating tropical heat and dust.

Here more tombs are to be found gathered in one place than anywhere else in Pakistan, and the city is dominated by the towering brick and marble shrine of its eleventh century.
