Lahore
The heart of Pakistan is situated on the River Ravi. A populous city, Lahore has since the time of Mughal Emperor, Akbar the great, been the resort of people of all nations and a center of extensive commerce, art and learning. It is rightly regarded as the cultural, architectural and artistic center of Pakistan.
To lay it offers a harmonious blend of ancient and contemporary architecture, but the main attraction of Lahore is its rich Mughal heritage. Several Mughal monuments are spread throughout the city. The Mughal period is described as the most flourishing and rich in culture even though Lahore saw many different dynasties throughout the ages. One can spend more than a day looking at the Mughal monuments of historical importance.
